Saints will be looking to continue their unbeaten league streak as they make the trip up to South Yorkshire to take on the Blades.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side come into the encounter having beaten recently relegated Birmingham City 1-0 in a Monday night fixture under the lights, in which substitute Lucia Kendall slotted home in the 84th minute from a pinpoint Katie Wilkinson ball.

By contrast, Sheffield United, who enjoyed a fruitful start to their season, fell 3-1 to a clinical and high-flying Bristol City team. Shania Hayles scored twice for City, with Abi Harrison bagging the third, while youngster Mia Enderby pulled back a consolation for the Blades in stoppage time.

With just one point separating the two sides and the stage set at Bramall Lane, Sunday’s encounter is set to be a competitive one.

MANAGER’S NOTES
“Despite their most recent result, we’re under no illusion that Sheffield United will be anything but a tough game.

“We’ve prepared well after Monday night and will be looking for the same workrate that we saw against Birmingham City at Totton.

“Playing at Bramall Lane will be another new experience for the team, but we know how vocal our supporters are, and the girls will relish the opportunity to put on a show for them.”

OPPOSITION WATCH
A young face in the Sheffield United side, Mia Enderby has made a big impact when she’s been brought into games.
