Nathan Tella continued his impressive start at Burnley with a goal against Cardiff City in the Championship. This and more in this week’s Loan Watch…

With only Jay Rodriguez scoring more goals than him so far this season for Burnley, the Saints loanee has already made a huge impression at Turf Moor.

Opening the scoring in the 48th minute on their trip to Cardiff City, it was only a 90th minute goal that denied Vincent Kompany’s side all three points, with them now sitting fourth in the Championship table.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Will Smallbone played the full 90 for Stoke after spending the international break with Ireland’s U21s.

In League Two, Dynel Simeu put in a man of the match performance for the third consecutive game as Tranmere claimed a 1-0 victory over Barrow.

Another clean sheet for Micky Mellon’s side, who secured their third successive win in the league, seeing them rise to 11th in the league standings.

In League One, Dan Nlundulu featured in Cheltenham Town’s 2-0 victory over Shrewsbury, playing 84 minutes at Whaddon Road.

To the Premier League now, where Jan Bednarek made his debut for Aston Villa in a 0-0 draw at Leeds.

With Steven Gerrard forced into an early change at Elland Road, Bednarek came off the bench to help the Midlands outfit keep a clean sheet.

In non-league, Jack Bycroft retained his place in between the sticks for Taunton Town. After a midweek draw with Bath City in National League South, a clean sheet and a 1-0 victory over Walton and Hersham ensured their progression into the FA Cup fourth qualifying round at the weekend.

Will Tizzard and Chippenham Town also secured their place in the next stage of the competition, with the Saints youngster coming off the bench after just ten minutes in their 2-1 win over the Metropolitan Police.

In the National League, Jake Vokins was brought off the bench for Woking in an emphatic 4-0 victory away from home at FC Halifax Town seeing them rise to 7th in the table.

Across the border, Kazeem Olaigbe was brought on upon 57 minutes in an attempt to turn things around as Ross County fell to a 2-0 defeat to Hibernian.
