Oxford United vs Saints

National League Southern Premier

Oxford City FC

Wednesday 9th March, 7.45pm GMT

After successfully reaching the final of the League Cup on Sunday with a 2-0 win over Crawley Wasps, Saints return to league action this week for the first time since mid-February.

Their last outing came at Bridgwater United, who return to Snows Stadium on Sunday, where goals from Sophia Pharoah and Ella Pusey secured a 2-0 victory.

Wednesday’s opponents Oxford hit seven at home to Hounslow last Tuesday and went top of the league as a result, continuing their unbeaten record at home this season.

A win for Saints, who have five games in hand over Oxford, would put them seven points behind their hosts in third, whilst United could regain top spot from Ipswich with a win.

Spectators can make the trip to support Saints for this top of the table clash with tickets available on the gate on Wednesday night.

Tickets are priced as follows and can be purchased via cash or card:

“This is one of the toughest league games we’re going to face,” said Marieanne Spacey-Cale. “They’re on an absolute roll, they haven’t been beaten at home.

“It’s a massive, massive game for us. They’re top of the league and they’ve come under the radar a bit.

“They’ve got real quality and really experienced players in there so they’ll know how to approach the game.

“We’ve just got to be really focused on how we want to play and what we want to do, go there with a positive mindset and try and beat the team that are top of the table.”
