Southampton FC Women’s new signing Alice Griffiths has spoken of her excitement at the endeavour awaiting her at the 20-year-old’s new club.
With the first week now under her belt, Griffiths has well and truly settled in to the side, ahead of her potential first outing this weekend against former side Bridgwater United.
Watching on from the afar before now, the Welsh international has seen plenty to motivate her when it comes to the project under Marieanne Spacey-Cale.
“I’ve heard about the club not getting the [Championship] application,” said Griffiths. “Moving forward, with where the club is right now, hopefully we can keep building.
“It’s a project I want to be a part of. Everyone’s been really welcoming so far, made me feel really comfortable. It’s a big change but the girls have been brilliant.
“I’m just going to try and do my best, develop as much as I can in this environment as well as encourage others around whilst also taking the help on board.
“They’ve had a really good start to the season so hopefully we can build on that. We’ve got a few tough games coming up so these results will be really important.”
