Women to face Ipswich in League Cup

In one of the standout draws of the opening round, the two teams boasting a 100% start to the National League Southern Premier season will meet at Goldstar Ground in early November.

It will be the first time the two sides at the summit of the table face off this season, with Ipswich due to visit Snows Stadium on 12th December before the two sides face off on the final day in the return fixture in April.

Saints booked their place in the first round of this competition with a 3-2 win at Cheltenham Town in September; Lucia Kendall, Georgie Freeland and Sophia Pharoah with the goals.

It was an equally narrow win for Ipswich in their determining round, seeing off London Bees at home with a 1-0 victory thanks to Zoe Barrett's solitary strike.
