Southampton’s Wesley Hoedt returned to the starting XI for Lazio as they continue to flourish in Serie A. This and more in our Loan Watch, in association with Kuflink...

Lazio boosted their Champions League hopes this weekend as they edged out a 4-3 victory over Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico.

Saints loanee Wesley Hoedt played the full 90 minutes for Lazio who currently sit 6th in Serie A.

In a tightly contested season in Italy, Lazio remain just 5 points off of 2nd place Atalanta with a game in hand. They next face Florentina away from home on Saturday.

Into the Premier League now, where Fulham’s days in the top tier of English football are nearing their end.

Mario Lemina played 78 minutes in the west London derby as Fulham fell to a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. They now sit 9 points adrift of 17th Newcastle United.

Shane Long returned to action for AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, where Wycombe Wanderers scored early.

Jonathan Woodgate introduced Long in the 67th minute, in a bid to turn the game around but the match finished 1-0.

Bournemouth still sit 5th in the Championship table with their hopes of a play-off place still very much alive.

Now to League One, where Tom O’Connor played the full 90 in Gillingham’s 1-1 draw with Burton.

Gillingham sit 11th in the League One table, with Saints loanee Josh Sims’ Doncaster Rovers placed in 12th.

Sims featured in both Doncaster’s 2-1 victory over now-relegated Rochdale as well as their 2-2 draw with 2nd place Peterborough United.

It was a disappointing weekend for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, where Moi Elyounoussi played the full 90 in a 4-1 defeat to Rangers.
