Southampton’s game against Burnley is Saints Foundation’s charity matchday – ahead of Sunday’s clash, club legend Franny Benali got a chance to see the shirt that the players will wear to raise awareness of the work Saints Foundation carry out.
Franny Benali is an ambassador for Saints Foundation and has closely followed the work of the charity across the last year, helping to support the local community during the pandemic.
Ahead of Sunday’s charity matchday, Benali is appealing for fans to donate the £10 they may have spent at the Burnley game to Saints Foundation – helping the charity to continue transforming lives in and around Southampton.
The club’s main sponsor Sportsbet.io have generously agreed to match donations pound for pound, doubling the Foundation’s fundraising in the build-up to this very special matchday.
In the past 12 months, Saints Foundation and Southampton Football Club have worked together to support the local community through the Saints As One initiative. Together, we have supported the city through a prescription delivery service, food deliveries and one-to-one wellbeing phone calls to older adults and season ticket holders.
Saints Foundation has also adapted their delivery to continue supporting their existing participants, young and old, in any way they can. The Foundation has used video call sessions to keep their community of Senior Saints connected, as well as continuing to support teaching in local primary and secondary schools, even during periods of remote learning.
If you can, please show your support for Saints Foundation by making a £10 donation to the charity in place of the money you would usually spend on a match ticket.
