Fara Williams meets Southampton FC Women

By SFC Media time Mon 08 Mar International Women's Day

It's been a frustrating period for Southampton FC Women not being able to play football due to the government guidelines. So what better way to lift the spirits in camp than to meet England Lionesses' most capped player of all time, Fara Williams.

With 172 international caps for her country, alongside 20 years of playing at the very top of the Women's game for the likes of Chelsea, Reading, Liverpool and Arsenal, Williams was the guest of honour during Saints' latest meeting last month.

Williams spoke of her esteemed career in football, how the game has changed since she started out back in 2001 and life playing against, before later being coached under, Saints' very own Marieanne Spacey-Cale.

The girls then had the chance to ask questions of their own, ranging from the best player she's played under to her favourite post-match meal.
