Southampton’s youngsters suffered a 3-1 defeat to West Brom on Saturday in the Under-18s Premier League.

Mo Faal gave the hosts the lead just one-minute shy of the break after a well contested first-half.

Jayden Smith equalised for Saints in the 55th minute; a goal warranting of their play since the opener.

With both sides searching for a winner, West Brom had attacking midfielder Jovan Malcolm to thank 20 minutes from time.

His first came on 70 minutes, with the game sealed seven minutes later.

Saints will look to respond next weekend as they host West Ham at Staplewood Campus.
