Ralph Hasenhüttl will still be without Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond when Southampton host Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
Ings has missed the last two games with a knee injury, while Redmond joined him in the treatment room after picking up a hamstring problem that ruled him out of Monday’s 1-1 draw with Wolves.
Whilst the United clash will come too soon, the Saints boss revealed the pair could be in line to return for the trip to Brighton a week on Monday.
“Definitely still an issue with his hamstring,” Hasenhüttl said of Redmond. “Not a big one, but it will take another seven or eight days, then that’s have a look.
“It was not that bad, this injury, but it is still there and we must pay attention.
“Danny is back in individual training on the pitch, so I think he can be an option for the Brighton game, which is moved to Monday now, but this weekend not.
“As we said, it was only a light injury, but it looks good.”
Otherwise the manager reported a clean bill of health for his side, who will be pushing to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches, whilst visitors United have won seven successive Premier League games on the road.
