By SFC Media time Tue 17 Nov Equality and Diversity

Throughout October and now into November, Southampton Football Club has been celebrating Black History Month with a variety of activities to support and educate.

This included a series of podcasts with special guests, finding out what Black History Month means to them and talking about some of their experiences. You can watch the first two episodes here.

You can also listen to Southampton defender Yan Valery talking about his experiences of being a young black footballer, including some of the challenges he faces when he returns back home to Paris.

Check out the Yan Valery episode here:

The final podcast features Saints legend Danny Wallace, who made 253 appearances for Saints between 1980 and 1989, scoring 64 goals.

He talked about his experiences as a black player during this era and what he thinks needs to be done in the game now to combat racism.
