Hat-trick hero Dan N’Lundulu remained humble following his three goals during Southampton B’s 5-2 Premier League 2 victory over Manchester City.

The forward, who grabbed his first team debut at the end of last month, scored his first of the afternoon after just six minutes, linking well with Nathan Tella.

His second came only four minutes later as he converted his rebounded effort to give Saints a quick-fire start.

N’Lundulu had to wait until the 77th minute to complete his trio of strikes.

“I feel great,” he said following the game. “We needed that to get back into winning ways. It’s nice to score a hat-trick.

I've got to keep showing that I can do the job that he [Hasenhüttl] requires me to do.

“For me a goal is a goal, as long as it hits the net it’s all good! But the first one was good, I like the first one. It was good play between me and Nathan [Tella].

“I’ve got to keep my feet on the ground. I’m happy that the manager is giving me his trust, keep putting me in the squad. I’ve got to keep showing him that I’m the one.

"Playing like this is great. We’ve got some good players and hopefully we’ll all get into that first team.

“It’s nice for him [Hasenhüttl] to see it live. I’ve just got to keep going, keep working hard, keep scoring goals and hopefully my chance will come.”
