Saints earn dramatic draw at Chelsea

Southampton moved three unbeaten in the Premier League following Saturday’s frenetic 3-3 draw at Chelsea.

Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side fell 2-0 down early on courtesy of a Timo Werner brace, only for Danny Ings and Ché Adams to level the score.

The hosts responded through Kai Havertz, only for Jannik Vestergaard to rescue a deserved point in second half stoppage time.

Everton next up at St Mary’s

This weekend will see Southampton return to St Mary’s, with high-flying Everton the visitors on Sunday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have made an impressive start to the season, currently sitting top of the table after five games.

Sunday’s match will be shown live on Sky Sports, kicking off at 2pm GMT.

Women emphatically secure cup progression

Southampton FC Women began their Vitality FA Cup journey in style, emphatically beating Helston Athletic 11-0 on Sunday.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side will be looking to emulate their record-breaking run in the competition last season, which saw them defeat higher opposition in Yeovil Town and Cardiff City before making their St Mary's debut against Coventry United.

Saints will now return to league action, heading to Maidenhead United on Sunday.

Under-18s hit eight

Southampton's youngsters claimed a comprehensive 8-2 victory over Leicester City in the Under-18s Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Sam Bellis stole the headlines with a hat-trick, while Kazeem Olaigbe netted a brace. Further strikes from Goran Babic, Jack Turner and Diamond Edwards completed the scoring.

Emphatically picking up a first win of the season, the Saints youngster now sit ninth in the table.

B team fall to narrow defeat

Southampton's B team suffered a narrow defeat to Blackburn Rovers in Premier League 2, despite dominating the second half at Snows Stadium.

The league’s top scorer Connor McBride added to his already impressive tally of goals this season with a half volley to give Rovers the lead after just 12 minutes.

Saints fielded a side with a mix of youth and first team experience; Jake Vokins and Yan Valery in at full-back, with Michael Obafemi and the returning Tyreke Johnson part of the front three.

Elsewhere, Josh Sims joined Doncaster Rovers in League One on loan until January – assisting on his debut in a 1-0 win at Portsmouth on Saturday – while Jake Hesketh completed a season-long loan move to Crawley in League Two.
