Walker-Peters makes permanent switch

Southampton completed the permanent signing of full-back Kyle Walker-Peters from Tottenham Hotspur last Tuesday.

The 23-year-old makes a summer move to St Mary’s, signing a five-year contract, following a series of eye-catching displays with the team after joining on an initial loan deal in January.

In a separate deal, midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has moved in the opposite direction, signing permanently with Tottenham for a significant fee.

Salisu becomes second summer acquisition

Southampton secured its second summer signing in the form of centre-back Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid.

The sought-after 21-year-old Ghanaian has signed a four-year contract at St Mary’s, and arrives with a growing reputation.

One of the most highly-regarded young centre backs playing in Europe right now, Salisu moved to Spanish top-flight side Valladolid from his homeland in 2017, first establishing himself in their second side, before quickly progressing into a key member of the first-team.
