Duo shortlisted for Premier League awards

Southampton pair Danny Ings and Moussa Djenepo have been shortlisted for Premier League end of season awards.

Ings, who netted 22 times in an impressive campaign, is one of seven players nominated to be named Premier League Player of the Season, whilst Djenepo is up for Goal of the Season.

The Malian’s strike at Sheffield United back in September was named Premier League Goal of the Month, and will now go up against the other monthly winners.

Voting for both awards closes at 6pm tonight.

Hasenhüttl named Manager of the Month

Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for July.

It’s the second time in 2019/20 that the boss has been nominated, missing out on the prize in January to Liverpool's Jürgen Klopp.

Hasenhüttl masterminded a near-flawless month as Saints brought their Premier League season to a close, including wins over Manchester City, AFC Bournemouth and Sheffield United on the final day.

New away kit revealed

Southampton’s new Under Armour away kit for the 2020/21 campaign has been revealed and is available to pre-order.

The latest release completes an eye-catching line-up for the new campaign, following on from the unveiling of the home and third ‘sash’ strips, and it continues the theme of honouring Saints’ history as the club prepares to celebrate its 135th anniversary.

Vokins signs new deal

Young Southampton full-back Jake Vokins has signed a new four-year contract at St Mary’s.

The 20-year-old Academy graduate has followed up a breakthrough season by reaching a fresh agreement that runs until 2024, in a deal that would take his time with Saints past the 15-year mark.

Vokins netted on his full debut in the FA Cup tie against Huddersfield before being handed a Premier Leaugue bow against Brighton in July.

Reed enjoys Fulham success

On-loan Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed was a Wembley winner last Tuesday, as Fulham defeated west London rivals Brentford in the Championship play-off final.

A typically tense encounter went into extra time after a goalless 90 minutes, with nothing to separate two sides who finished level on points in the regular season.

But left-back Joe Bryan was the unlikely hero as Fulham won “the richest game in football” for the second time in three seasons.

ePremier League Finals rescheduled

The ePremier League finals, postponed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will begin on Thursday this week.

Back for a second season, the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 tournament will see the 40 finalists from the club playoff stage battle it out to claim the ePL title, with all 20 Premier League clubs represented.

Representing Saints for a second successive year, Owen ‘SaintsVenny’ Venn (PlayStation) and Reece ‘FUTWIZ Rusher’ Rusher (Xbox) will begin their finals campaign on Thursday 13th August and Friday 14th August respectively.
