Danny Ings has made the coveted shortlist for 2019/20's Premier League Player of the Season.
The impressive form of Ings has caught the eye of fans and pundits alike, not just with a Southampton affiliation, and now the club's star striker has been recognised with an end-of-season award nomination.
Losing out to Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy by just a single goal, Ings netted 22 times in his most prolific Premier League season to date.
Emerging as one of the top-flight's most lethal frontmen, no player scored more goals from open play (non-penalty goals) than Ings during 2019/20.
To put that haul into perspective, only Matt Le Tissier (25 in 1993/94) and James Beattie (23 in 2002/03) have ever scored more in a single campaign for Saints.
Joining the 28-year-old on the seven-player shortlist are Kevin De Bruyne, Jordan Henderson, Nick Pope, Saido Mané, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jamie Vardy.
Voting closes at 6pm BST on Monday 10th August, with the winner announced on Sunday 16th.
