Covid-19 Delivery Guidelines

After months away from our participants, this summer will see a return of some of our projects and activities as we continue to support our community during this difficult time.

Our sessions are getting underway but we the way we run them has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From every participant and staff member, to the spaces and places we use, everyone can play their part in making sure that our time together is as safe as possible.

We’ve been following the government’s guidance closely, planning how we can effectively continue our mission of transforming lives in and around Southampton despite the everyday issues we all now face. To do this, we’ve been planning for a return to face to face delivery for some time and we are confident that we are ready to welcome our participants back to the sessions that they value so highly.

To allow us to be back with our community, we have to remain vigilant. Over the next few weeks and months, sessions will look and feel different.

Anyone who is showing coronavirus symptoms should stay at home and follow government guidance. This will avoid spreading the infection to participants, staff and the wider public. We may ask you to complete a medical declaration in advance of your session, so we know that those attending are symptom free.

Social distancing will be mandatory at all of our sessions. Throughout most of our sessions, we will be keeping to the current FA guidelines of staff/participant ratio of 1:5. If the FA guidelines change, we may update our position. All of our delivery has been adapted to take in to account social distancing, with participants asked to keep to this at all times when you are with us.

Where needed we’ll also operate a grouping, or bubble system, in order to minimise the interaction of different participants. This will also allow us to quickly and effectively isolate those who have been in contact should anyone develop any symptoms.

These ratios also mean that you will see a difference in some of our delivery, with mass open access sessions not currently possible. We’ve taken additional measures to ensure the sites and venues we use are safe and right for our participants, with changes to arrival and departure to our sessions, particularly at busy times.

All of our staff have been working hard to ensure they can still keep the enjoyment, challenge and development at the heart of our delivery, whilst ensuring distancing is practised. So, you can be assured of the same high standards that you’re used to with Saints Foundation.

When we return, hand hygiene will be important. We will be asking participants to wash their hands before arriving and use hand sanitiser when needed, making sure that the risk of infection is lowered when interacting at our sessions.

All of our sessions are different and will require every activity to have its own specific set of guidelines and information for participants and parent/guardians, which we hope will reassure you about attending as we continue to put the safety and welfare of our participants at the heart of what we do.

We are excited to be back with you, once again at the centre of our city, helping those who need it. But, it’s important that we all work together to remain safe and get the most out of our sessions.
