Defender Kyle Walker-Peters praised the fight of his teammates after Southampton’s impressive 3-1 victory at struggling Watford in the Premier League.
Looking to bounce straight back from Thursday's Arsenal defeat, Saints got off to a perfect start as Danny Ings fired home after just 16 minutes.
The striker doubled his tally 20 minutes from time after a mistake from Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster, before a Jan Bednarek own goal gave the hosts a glimmer of hope.
But all that was dashed with eight minutes remaining via a superb James Ward-Prowse free-kick, securing maximum spoils and a delighted response from the full-back, who was making his first start since fixtures resumed.
“Before the game we wanted to show that we wanted it just as much as they did,” said the Tottenham loanee.

“I think, coming out with that victory, we’ve shown them that we wanted it a bit more and we knew what it took to win.
“That’s what we’ve been speaking about, we want to hit 40 points. You look at the teams above us now there’s a lot on 42, 43 and 45 points so we’re itching to try and get up there.
“Nobody is really talking about us but we’re right there so we’ll see what happens.”
