Striker Shane Long is back in contention following a short injury lay-off, the manager has confirmed, and is likely to feature when Southampton host Arsenal this Thursday.

Long missed last week's trip to Norwich, where Saints were quick to dispel any pre-game assertions that a three month break may have left the squad a little sluggish, and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners.

Not short of goalscorers that day, the manager was nevertheless quick to pinpoint Long as a welcome addition to his attacking options, especially given the fact that Moussa Djenepo remains suspended.

"My players are all fit," Hasenhüttl asserted. "Longy is back, he's trained with the team all this week. So we have another opportunity in the front.

"Moussa [Djenepo] is out with his suspension, but the rest of the guys are available."
