Norwich City boss Daniel Farke is unsure what his side will face when Southampton visit Carrow Road on Friday night.

Both sides are back in Premier League action for the first time since the beginning of March, with nine games remaining in the 2019/20 season.

After such a lengthy delay, the Canaries manager is hesitant to look too closely into previous form.

“It's a bit more complicated to analyse our opponents.

Daniel farke on what to expect from saints.

"That momentum that was there nearly four months ago is no longer important. It's not like they will play completely different, but we have no idea how they have used the lockdown period.

"We have worked on several things, like how to play in different base formations. It's tricky when you can't play a proper amount of friendlies.

“We have conceded too many goals from crosses, so we have worked on this key topic. I don't want to give too much information to our opponents!”

After Saints ran out 2-1 victors in the reverse fixture, Norwich will be looking to avenge their defeat at St Mary’s back in December.

However, with all remaining Premier League matches to be played behind closed doors, Farke has played down the importance of home advantage.

"If I'm realistic, it would've been an advantage to play our home games in front of fans. We now have no real home-advantage. To have so many games in such a short-period, the clubs who can spend a lot of money on quality will have an advantage.

"We won't use this as an excuse, we know realistically it doesn't often go in our favour, but this is the situation."
