Marieanne Spacey-Cale previews Wednesday night’s “really exciting game”, as Southampton FC Women travel to Southampton Women in the National League (7.45pm GMT).
The fixture sees the top two teams in the division go head-to-head for the second time, after playing out a 0-0 draw back in September.
This previous meeting was the only occasion Spacey-Cale’s side has failed to score and dropped points this season.
On the game Spacey-Cale said: “It was a very close affair and I think it showed the talent there is in Hampshire and the amount of good football being played.”
“I think it was only a couple of games in, so both teams have matured a bit over the course of the season.
“They’ve made some changes, bought some personnel in and are probably going to be a lot stronger than they were on the day.
“It’s going to be a really good game of football. Both teams will want to play football and want to get the ball down. Both have pace and aggression. It’s going to be a really competitive fixture.”
