The Primary Stars Tournament brings together all of our partner schools across the region to participate in competitive football games with the aim of representing Southampton FC at the national tournament in May.
Four schools from the Winchester area have become the first to reach the finals at Staplewood in February after defeating the opposition at Henry Beaufort School.
Weeke Primary School, Hearne Junior School, Crescent Primary School and Shakespeare Junior School have won a place in the next round after some great play on the pitch.
Elsewhere in Southampton eight more schools have also made it to the regional finals.
Promoting the Primary Stars values of being fair, ambitious, connected, inspired and active, the students represented their schools brilliantly.
The four teams will now visit Southampton FC’s training ground where they will take on the other schools for a chance to represent the club at Vicarage Road, home of Watford FC, in May.
Our five Premier League Primary Stars project officers work in 16 schools across the city helping to upskill teachers in PE as well as support students in maths, English and PSHE.
