Full-back Cédric will spend a short spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee ligament injury in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

Replaced after 21 minutes at Selhurst Park, the Portuguese will miss Southampton’s FA Cup fourth round tie with Spurs at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Also picking up injuries in midweek and absent for the cup clash are Jannik Vestergaard and Shane Long, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl has confirmed.

“Cédric is out for three weeks maybe with a ligament injury in the knee,” he said. “Jannik is also out because he has a concussion from an elbow he hit.

“Longy also has a swollen knee so is not able to play at the weekend. So, we have three automatic changes to the starting eleven.”
