Ralph Hasenhüttl was delighted with the manner of his side's performance following a 2-0 away success at Crystal Palace, lifting Saints into the top half of the table for the first time this season.

The manager credited both goalscorers for their contributions, but also the team for the way in which they executed a clear game plan, and shutout their hosts for the majority of the tie.

Saints rise to ninth as a consequence, having put together a run of four consecutive away victories, with Hasenhüttl also pleased his team were able to bounce back from Saturday's Wolves disappointment.

"Today, especially with the ball, was perhaps our best away performance," he began. "First half was unbelievably good.

"Quick moving, created a lot of chances and I can't believe it was only one zero. In the second half we also showed that we can stay concentrated for 90 minutes.

the turn around is unbelievable and we feel that we can win games from the first moment.

"To have a clean sheet here is good and to win here is not so easy.

"We wanted to show a reaction from Saturday. The team was very focussed. We had one session yesterday where we tried to give ourselves a few options with the ball. It worked very well.

"The game plan worked. The goal from Reddie [Nathan Redmond] was fantastic and also the second one from Stu [Armstrong]. We have two No.10s that can score goals.

"I enjoy it in the moment. The turn around is unbelievable and we feel that we can win games from the first moment. We are very happy.

"It was important we take this away win, because next time we go away to Liverpool."
