Southampton FC Women are back in FA National league action this weekend, facing Chesham for the third time this season at AFC Totton’s Snows Stadium (kick-off 2PM GMT).
Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side will be hoping to continue their winning run against the side, having recorded 5-2 and 1-0 victories in the league and FA Cup respectively at Chesham already this season.
Goals from Ella Pusey, Shannon Albuery, an own goal and a double from Shannon Sievwright got Saints’ season off to a flyer in August.
But it was a much tighter affair in their second visit to Chesham; Pusey with the only goal of the game as Sara Luce impressed between the sticks during November’s first-round FA Cup tie.
It’s Saints' first home game in just under two months, with important league and FA Cup victories at Yeovil Town and Cardiff City Ladies sandwiched between a 7-1 Hampshire cup win over AFC Bournemouth and this weekend.
Their last league outing at Snows Stadium came at the start of November; a 7-1 win over Larkhall Athletic.
Another three points at home this weekend would continue Saints’ unbeaten run, keeping them top of Division 1 South West with a game in hand over second placed Southampton Women’s, who they face towards the end of February.
