Saints stars Danny Ings and Cedric Soares have surprised a handful of our Saints Foundation participants and helped spread some early festive cheer.
Pupils from our eight Community Champion secondary schools and a number of those involved in our SaintsAbility project were invited to St Mary’s and presented with certificates for their fantastic achievements over the past year.
These include recognition for positive engagement, commitment to the sessions we run, as well as improved behaviour and making strides academically.
They were given a tour of the players’ lounge and VIP access to the first team dressing room, and it was here first teamers Danny and Cedric snuck up behind them, photo bombing pictures and giving the youngsters an early Christmas present they’ll never forget.
Saints Foundation’s Community Champions work full time within secondary schools, providing one-to-one mentoring and extra-curricular activities, enabling students to feel more empowered within education.
SaintsAbility works with children and adults with disabilities, allowing them space to thrive on the football pitch as well as giving them a pathway into competitive football.
Well done to all our young people for their great achievements throughout 2019!
