Saints suffer late defeat at Newcastle
Southampton fell to a first Premier League defeat in four on Sunday, as Newcastle United came from behind to snatch victory at St James’ Park.
Danny Ings’s fifth goal in as many games put the visitors on course for a third successive win, before the Magpies fought back.
Jonjo Shelvey’s header levelled the score, before Federico Fernández struck three minutes from time to ensure Saints would leave empty handed despite a largely positive performance.
Final home match before Christmas
West Ham visit St Mary’s in the Premier League on Saturday in the last home match before Christmas (kick-off 5.30pm GMT).
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will be looking to make it three straight home wins, after seeing off Watford and Norwich in the last 10 days.
With Saints two places and one point below the Hammers, it’s setup to be another enthralling encounter on the south coast.
Under-23s get back to winning ways
Southampton Under-23s got back on track in Premier League 2 on Friday night with a 2-0 win over Manchester City.
Two goals in two minutes from Callum Slattery and Christian Norton ensured the three points for Dave Horseman’s side.
The result lifted Saints above City in the table to 11th.
Huddersfield FA Cup date confirmed
Southampton will host Huddersfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup third round on Saturday 4th January, it has been confirmed.
Saints will welcome the Championship side to St Mary's, as both teams begin their participation in this season's competition, with kick-off at 3.01pm.
The extra minute before the match starts is part of the Heads Up campaign, which will see all 32 third-round fixtures, excluding replays, kick-off one minute later than their traditionally-scheduled slots to encourage fans to ‘Take A Minute’ to think about looking after their mental health.
Signing session with Ings and Djenepo
Danny Ings and Moussa Djenepo will be appearing at the club's Stadium Store for a signing session this Wednesday, 11th December.
The duo will be at St Mary's between 5.30pm and 7pm, meeting fans and signing Saints merchandise, so you can treat a loved one to an extra special gift this Christmas.

2019/20 Half Season Tickets available
Southampton have released details of 2019/20 Half Season Tickets which can now be purchased for the final 10 games of the season - from just £22 per game.
The Premier League matches included begin with the Crystal Palace fixture on Saturday 28th December, running through to the end of the 2019/20 season, including games against Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

Women’s match postponed
Southampton FC Women had their Women’s National League Division One trip to Exeter postponed on Sunday.
Deemed unplayable due to a waterlogged pitch, Saints' next game will now be at home against Maidenhead United in the National League on Sunday 15th December.
Under-18s convincingly beaten
Southampton Under-18s suffered a 5-0 loss at home to West Ham on Saturday morning.
With the score at 1-0 to the visitors, Sam Bellis had a penalty save before the Hammers hit a further four without reply.
Next up, the Under-18s head to Bristol Rovers in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night (kick-off 7pm GMT).
