The key points of interest from Ralph Hasenhüttl's pre-Norwich meeting with the media on Tuesday...

On looking for back-to-back wins...

“It’s absolutely massive for us. The first win at home was also an important signal in the table.

“We had a few mistakes and that was the moment where the crowd were moaning, which I think is normal. We must avoid those moments.

"The rest of the half you could see we were trying to find a solution against a very deep opponent. We did it a few times very well and the second half was for sure much better.

“The game plan and how we tried to work was okay, the rest was about mentality and intensity in our game. Good subs put more pressure on the back five against Watford.”

On team news...

“I must say that it’s getting worse [Boufal's toe injury] and this isn’t a good signal. After the game, the reaction wasn’t the best one.

“Wednesday will be difficult I think. He might be on the bench but not from the beginning. This isn’t a positive message, but maybe he won’t train today [Tuesday] I think.

“The rest of the team is okay.”

On progress since taking the job...

“When I was coming here I knew the job wasn’t going to be an easy one because of the limits we have within the club.

"We have our way of developing players and bring young players in the team which takes time.

“Everybody wishes the development goes quicker but we’ve had moments where we are really proud of this team and also very difficult moments. Especially with our difficult schedule at the beginning of this season.

“I still love my job here and I think the way we showed how committed we are in the last month has been special for me.

“It has given me the signal that it was absolutely the right decision for me to come here.

“It’s a special club and we know about the difficulties of our way, but we go this way together and there is a chance for us to develop young players and to make them better.”

On league position...

“In the end, I think we have now 12 points and I think seventh in the league has 19 points. It’s very, very tight.

“With two or three wins you are suddenly in the middle of the table.

“We have in the next weeks opponents that we can beat, and this is the only goal we have. We need to take as many points as possible this year, then we will have a good position for the second half of the season.

“For me, the table is interesting for the first time when you have played everyone. You can see if you’ve done a good job or not."

On pressure...

“I think every manager has pressure because the table is very tight and close together.

“If you lose two games you are immediately struggling, and if you win two or three then you are up in the table. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon until the end of the season.

“Last season, we knew it was a race until the end and this year is the same. We know what it’s about which is a good thing because it’s not a surprise to us."
