It’s a return to Under-18s Premier League action for Southampton's youngsters on Saturday morning, as they entertain Leicester City at Staplewood Campus.
Buoyed by a triumphant 5-0 win over Norwich City two weeks prior, Saints will be fresh faced and full of confidence heading into this weekends Foxes clash.
The win came at an important time for Paul Hardyman's young side as well, who had only managed one win before that Norwich success; a 1-0 victory over Arsenal.
"The lads have been working hard in training, and not getting the results performances have deserved" Hardyman began. "It was pleasing that they were really clinical against Norwich; we've had games where we haven't been and we've been punished for that."
Indeed, maximum spoils against Leicester could well see Saints move as high as sixth, leapfrogging the Foxes in the process.
"It's always nice to win, but the way we look at it we've had around 50 appearances already from Under-18s players in the Under-23s.
"So that's the opportunity we're trying to offer the lads; to go test themselves and try themselves out at a higher standard.
"Wins are important, but if we're doing things right then everything should come together, the development followed by results."
