Djenepo up for Goal of the Month
Winger Moussa Djenepo has been shortlisted for September’s Premier League Budweiser Goal of the Month award for his sublime solo effort against Sheffield United.
The second goal of his Saints career, the Malian superbly danced his way deep into the Blades box before slamming home the game’s only goal.

Chelsea prove too strong
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side fell to a disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
Despite a bright start, goals from Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount put the visitors in a commanding position before Danny Ings reduced the arrears with his fifth of the campaign.
Restoring their two goal advantage, N’Golo Kanté fired home via a deflected effort just before the break, with substitute Michy Batshuayi rounding off the scoring late on.
Five star Under-18s defeat Norwich
Southampton’s youngsters left Norwich City with a thumping 5-0 win in the Under-18 Premier League on Saturday morning.
Teenage striker Sam Bellis, having scored his first goal for the club last week, stole the show with a well executed treble, while midfielder Jack Turner found the net twice to seal the points in the second half.
The victory lifts Paul Hardyman's side into ninth, a point behind Arsenal in the position above, and sets them up perfectly for a meeting with Leicester City at Staplewood on Saturday.
Under-23s start cup campaign with a draw
Hosting Stoke in their Premier League Cup opener, the Under-23s had to settle for a share of the spoils at Staplewood.
In-form striker, Dan N’Lundulu, produced yet another goal eight minutes into the second half before Jake Dunwoody’s smart finish levelled things up nine minutes later.
Goalkeeper Jack Bycroft was called upon to make a couple of crucial saves late on as Radhi Jaïdi’s side ensured they got a point on the board.
Next up, Saints will host Blackburn at Staplewood in Premier League 2 on Monday, October 21st (7pm BST).

After two weeks without a match, Southampton FC Women are back in action this weekend.
Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s team are unbeaten so far this season but will now look to kickstart their FA Women’s Cup campaign.

Ward-Prowse and Yoshida become Foundation ambassadors
Southampton players James Ward-Prowse and Maya Yoshida were last week announced as Saints Foundation ambassadors.
Launching its new Ambassador Programme, the duo were named as the first two ambassadors for the scheme which will help to drive further awareness of the club’s charity whilst remaining true to their mission of transforming lives within our community.
As part of the role, they will spread the charity’s message to more people across the city, whilst visiting projects to see how their work affects the lives of people in Southampton.
More ambassadors are set to be announced next year, with Saints Foundation currently in talks to make further significant signings.
