Poland remain top of Group G's European qualification stakes following a 0-0 stalemate with third-placed Austria.

Southampton’s Jan Bednarek played the entirety of the tie, as Poland continue to be well placed to qualify for Euro 2020 as group winners.

Their 100% start to qualifying was ended on Friday night, as they went down 2-0 in Slovenia, who now lie second, but remain two points adrift of the Poles.

Elsewhere, Stuart Armstrong was a 68th minute substitute as Scotland lost out by four goals to FIFA ranked favourites Belgium.

Armstrong replaced Callum McGregor after the majority of the damage had already been inflicted on Steve Clarke's side, with Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Vermaelen, Toby Alderweireld and Kevin de Bruyne all on target.

Scotland must now look to next year's play-offs as their best hope of ending a 22-year wait for a major finals appearance.

Tonight's 4-0 success made it six wins from six for Roberto Martinez's Group I leaders.
