Kevin Danso was on target for Austria Under-21s as a trio of Southampton players completed a clean sweep of wins on day one of the September internationals.

Saints defender Danso, recently signed on a season-long loan from Augsburg in Germany, struck the clinching goal from the penalty spot in a 3-1 success against Andorra.

It was Austria’s first qualifier on the road to Euro 2021, with England also in the same group.

At senior level, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg helped Denmark cruise to a 6-0 victory in Gibraltar to remain unbeaten in Euro 2020 qualifying.

The Saints skipper completed the full 90 minutes, as Christian Eriksen scored two penalties on a comfortable night for the Danes.

In the early kick-off this afternoon, Maya Yoshida captained Japan to a 2-0 win over Paraguay on his 96th cap.
