Young Southampton forward Marcus Barnes has joined Eastleigh on loan until January 6th.

The 22-year-old made his first-team debut for Saints against Derby County in the Emirates FA Cup third round in January.

A regular goalscorer for Radhi Jaïdi’s Under-23s, Barnes has previously been loaned to Yeovil, where he made nine appearances in the 2017/18 campaign.

Eastleigh, National League play-off semi-finalists last term, have suffered a tough start to the new season, with two wins from their first eight matches.

Everyone at Southampton would like to wish Marcus well in his time away from the club, and will be keeping a keen eye on his progress.
