Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina has joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

The Istanbul-based club are the most successful side in Turkish football history, winning 22 league titles, and are the current Süper Lig and Turkish Cup holders.

Lemina, who turned 26 yesterday, has made 52 appearances since arriving at St Mary’s from Juventus in 2017, scoring two goals.

The Gabonese international will team up with former Premier League players Ryan Babel, Steven Nzonzi and Sofiane Feghouli at the Türk Telekom Stadium.

Galatasaray will compete in Group A of this year’s Champions League, alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Club Brugge.

Everyone at Southampton would like to wish Mario well for the season ahead.
