It’s been a tough start to this season’s Under-18s Premier League campaign for Saints' youngsters, following back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa and Swansea City.
This Saturday’s fixture is no easier, hosting Chelsea at Staplewood, but Paul Hardyman will be able to call on the entirety of his squad, after a host of players returned from an international tour of China this week.
Chelsea are one of two U18 PL South sides to have a perfect record after two games played - Brighton are the other - but both wins have been by narrow margins.
Indeed, Saints have themselves been on the receiving end of tight scorelines, narrowly missing out on a share of the points against Villa on opening weekend.
Hardyman’s side last met Chelsea back in January, where the game finished two apiece after a second-half Blues fightback - Christian Norton and Will Ferry were both on target that day. The Under-18s coach will be hoping for more of the same tomorrow as his young side bid for their first points of the season.
