Striker Sam Gallagher has today completed a transfer from Southampton to Blackburn Rovers, the club can confirm.
The 23-year-old has moved to the Championship side for an undisclosed fee, after seven years at St Mary’s.
Gallagher, who made his first-team debut in 2013, 18 months after joining the Academy, made 26 appearances during his time with the club, while also scoring the winner in the Under-21 Premier League Cup final in 2015.
He also spent time on loan at MK Dons and Birmingham, as well as with Blackburn, where he scored 11 Championship goals in the 2016/17 campaign.
Everyone at Southampton would like to thank Sam for all of his efforts and commitment, and we wish him every success in the future.
