Danny Ings has today officially completed his permanent switch from Liverpool, Southampton Football Club is delighted to confirm.
The striker arrived at St Mary’s last summer on an initial loan deal, with an agreement for a transfer at the end of the season, and Ings has now formally completed the move to his hometown club, signing a contract until 2022.
The 26-year-old scored eight times in his debut season for Saints last term, including a series of pivotal goals that earned the team a string of vital points in their Premier League campaign.

Ings, who reported back to Staplewood Campus for the first day of pre-season on Monday, was pleased to make the switch official and spoke of how excited he is at what lies ahead.
"It feels good,” he said. “Obviously, being here for a season already, I felt like it was very up and down for me personally, with a few niggles and small injuries, and that was off the back of not having a strong pre-season going into the season.
“Now I've signed permanently, I feel great. I've looked after myself over the summer and I'm just raring to go for the new season.
