Southampton midfielder Stuart Armstrong featured as Scotland got off to a winning start under new manager Steve Clarke.
The Saints midfielder was a late substitute, as Scotland edged Cyprus 2-1 at Hampden Park in a EURO 2020 qualifier.
Armstrong was introduced in the 88th minute, immediately after Ioannis Kousoulos had headed the visitors level, following captain Andy Robertson's stunning opener just after the hour mark.
His arrival into the game coincided with Scotland quickly regaining the lead, as fellow sub Oliver Burke slammed home his own rebound after heading a Ryan Fraser cross against the post.
The result gave Clarke an ideal start to his reign as boss, and saw Scotland climb to third place in Group I, with six points from their first three games.
Armstrong and Scotland now head to Belgium for Tuesday night's game against the group leaders.
