Southampton Football Club will host 2. Bundesliga champions 1.FC Köln at St Mary’s on Saturday 3rd August, 3pm BST, as part of their preparations for the new Premier League campaign.
The friendly will take place seven days prior to the start of the 2019/20 season, with league fixtures set to be announced on the morning of June 13th.
The newly promoted Bundesliga side finished six points clear of nearest rivals SC Paderborn 07 to earn a swift return to top-flight German football during 2018/19, having only spent one season in the second tier.
More commonly known as 1.FC Cologne, Saints are yet to meet the German side competitively, but manager Ralph Hasenhüttl spent two years of his playing career representing Die Geißböcke between 1998-2000, scoring three times.
Ticket details for the friendly clash will be announced in due course.
