Southampton forward Nathan Redmond picked up the Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Season for 2018/19 following his best Premier League return yet in terms of goal involvements. We take a look at some of the numbers behind his campaign…

3,275 – minutes played in the Premier League. Redmond was one of just 20 outfield players to feature in every Premier League game in the 2018/19 campaign, starting 36 out of the 38 games.

10 – The number of goal involvements Redmond had in the Premier League, scoring six and making four assists. Only Danny Ings was level with that in the Saints squad, scoring seven goals and registering three assists. That is his best return to date in the top-flight, bettering the six goals and three assists he got for Norwich during the 2015/16 season.

38 – Pressing to good effect? That’s how many times Nathan Redmond won possession in the final third during the 2018/19 season. Indeed, only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah did so more often (39), with N’Golo Kante doing so 35 times.

92 – Only Eden Hazard and Wilfried Zaha completed more successful dribbles than Nathan Redmond in the Premier League, with a success rate of 48.68%.

52 – Chances created (inc assists) for his teammates during the season, the most of any Saints midfielder. James Ward-Prowse (47) wasn’t far behind, while Stuart Armstrong was third with 29.

848 – Passes completed during the Premier League season, with a 75% success rate.
