Southampton FC Women go on the road on Sunday afternoon, as they look for a 15th consecutive league victory.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s side are a perfect 14 from 14 in the Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division so far this term, and they head to Barton Rovers later (2pm BST) with hopes of edging closer towards securing the title.

Despite their unblemished record, Saints actually head into the weekend second in the table, behind AFC Bournemouth CST on goal difference, but having played two games fewer.

Spacey-Cale’s side know that they can claim the title at some point in the next week, with home games against Warsash Wasps (Wednesday) and Barton again (Sunday) to come – victory today and in those two matches would be enough to seal top spot and promotion, regardless of anything Cherries do.

This afternoon’s clash takes place at the Rivers Ibis Health Club, Scours Lane, Reading, RG30 6AY.
