Ralph Hasenhüttl is likely to be without Shane Long for this weekend's trip to Brighton and Hove Albion, but is hopeful he'll be able to call upon fellow striker Danny Ings.
Long was withdrawn early from Southampton's Premier League victory over Tottenham in early March and is still managing his recovery, while Ings played 45 minutes during last week's friendly win against QPR, coming through unscathed.
The manager has also had to contend with this month's international break, adding to Saints' fixture disruption, but is confident that all players have returned to Staplewood in good shape.
"So far everyone has come back okay," the Austrian asserted. "There's two players who I haven't seen yet, that's Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Moi Elyounoussi.
"I haven't heard about any injury troubles so I think everyone has returned fit and well.
"Shane Long is the only player unavailable. He's on his way back into team training but it's been gradual.
"Danny [Ings] has trained for two weeks with the first team. Last week we had a friendly game against QPR and he played 45 minutes without any problems.
"We'll wait and see if he's an option for the starting XI. But I'm happy that he's back in training, it's important."
