It has been confirmed that Southampton FC have retained their Regional Talent Club (RTC) Tier 1 license for the 2019/20 season after successfully passing The Football Association’s annual review process.
Once a year, The FA solicits the opinions of players, parents and staff involved with RTCs up and down the country to understand and improve how clubs operate on a day-to-day basis.
The findings are then used to shape the on-going development of RTCs at a national level, as well as provide individual feedback to the 34 member clubs themselves.
The report, conducted in January 2019, found that Southampton is, and continues to be, one of the leading female coaching centres in the country, with an overwhelmingly positive response from both players and parents.
Additionally, The FA concluded that the club’s general practises are exceeding that of many of their peers, with particular reference to; training facilities, player development pathway and performance support.
General Manager Martina Heath said: "This is a fantastic achievement for all staff, players and parents involved with Southampton FC.
"It highlights once again how we continue to turn our potential into excellence, both on the pitch and off it.
"Being awarded a Tier 1 licence is imperative to this club's vision. It enables us to support our players' development, as well as attract and retain the best female talent in the area."
