The qualification campaign for Euro 2020 gets under way today, with two Saints hoping to help their countries get off to a perfect start.
First up, Stuart Armstrong’s Scotland are in action against Kazakhstan in an afternoon kick-off in Astana (3pm GMT).
The Scots are without a host of players through injury, including their captain and Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson, but opening their campaign against Kazakhstan followed by San Marino on Sunday is a real opportunity to get six points on the board.
Elsewhere, Jan Bednarek could find himself up against West Ham star Marko Arnautović as Poland travel to Vienna to face Austria in what could be a tight affair between the two highest-ranked teams in the group (7.45pm GMT).
Influential skipper Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the Poles, who were quarter-finalists at Euro 2016.
Meanwhile, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Angus Gunn will both hope to gain minutes for Denmark and England Under-21s respectively in international friendlies.
Højbjerg is in Kosovo for a 6pm GMT kick-off before the Danes begin their road to Euro 2020 against Switzerland next Tuesday.
The Young Lions are preparing for this summer’s European Championship in Italy and San Marino by facing Poland at Ashton Gate, home of Bristol City, at 7.45pm GMT.
