Women back in league action

Southampton FC Women are back in league action this Sunday, fresh from booking a spot in their League Cup final.

Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side triumphed 6-0 at Wycombe Ladies last weekend to set up a showdown with Oxford City Ladies, as they chase a first piece of silverware.

Their hopes of doing the double are well alive, and this Sunday provides them with another opportunity to move a step closer to achieving that.

Saints have won ten out of ten in the Southern Region Women's Football League Premier Division and, although they are second, they are only three points behind AFC Bournemouth CST with two games in hand.

This weekend sees a trip to second-from-bottom Barton Rovers, who they are meeting for the first time in the campaign.

The game kicks off at 2pm GMT, and supporters who want to watch can head to the Prudential IBIS Club, Scours Lane, RG30 6AY.
