Jake Hesketh was again on target for loan club MK Dons during their latest League Two conquer away at Carlisle United.

Conor McGrandles had fired the visitors ahead, but they were pegged back by a Steven Scougall penalty three minutes later.

Hesketh netted in the 69th minute to retake the lead, bending a precise effort around Adam Collin and into the far corner from the edge of the box.

A further strike from forward Kieran Agard proved to be the winner, before a consolation from Carlisle's Hallam Hope rounded off the day's scoring.

The 3-2 victory has boosted the Dons' chances of a play-off spot significantly, as they rise to fourth in the table, two points shy of third-placed Mansfield Town.

There was less to cheer about elsewhere in the EFL, as Harrison Reed's Blackburn fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to promotion chasing Middlesbrough.

Britt Assombalonga scored the only goal of the game in the 19th minute, with Reed featuring for the whole 90. Rovers drop to 14th, while Boro remain in the hunt for Premier League football.

On the continent, both Sofiane Boufal and Wesley Hoedt were involved in Celta Vigo's 4-1 loss to Levante in La Liga, while Guido Carrillo was a second-half substitute during Leganes' 3-0 defeat to Real Sociedad.

In Eredivisie, Jordy Clasie's Feyenoord suffered a 1-0 loss away to FC Groningen, effectively ending their pursuit of frontrunners Ajax and PSV Eindhoven, who are unlikely to be caught at the top of the league.

In non-league action, Ben Rowthorn was on the scoresheet for Truro City during their 2-0 success over Oxford City, while Dorchester Town hammered Staines 6-1, where goalkeeper Kingsley Latham was an unused substitute.
