Ralph Hasenhüttl's side will be boosted by the return of both Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Maya Yoshida this weekend, as plans for Saturday's crucial Cardiff City clash continue.
The latter has returned from the Asia Cup, where Japan finished runners-up to Qatar, while Højbjerg has recovered from a brief spell on the sidelines with concussion.
The manager also gave an update on striker Danny Ings, who was withdrawn early against Burnley last weekend, and can expect to be missing for up to three weeks with a slight hamstring issue.
“Danny made a big step towards the ball last week and felt a problem in his hamstring,” the Austrian confirmed. “It’ll take him two or three weeks to come back from that.
“We’ll miss him for sure. He’s a good player for us and I need him fit.
“For the moment, we know that’ll take two or three weeks recovery. But we’ll have Pierre [Højbjerg] back after his concussion. We missed him at the weekend and it’s good that he’s back.
“I don’t think we’re showing we have problems scoring. Nathan Redmond is showing fantastic form at the moment; we should be more focussed on achieving clean sheets.
“Ryan [Bertrand] is back, he’s training consistently. And Maya [Yoshida] is back from the Asia Cup. So that gives us more options defensively.”
