Southampton defender Maya Yoshida begins the knockout stages of the Asian Cup on Monday with Japan.
The centre-back helped the Samurai Blue qualify for the last 16 at the top of their group, with wins over Turkmenistan, Oman and Uzbekistan.
Yoshida captained his country in the first of those two matches, and, with qualification assured, was rested for the last of them.
Japan now take on Saudi Arabia at 3pm GMT on Monday, at Sharjah Stadium, in United Arab Emirates, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
