Davis returns to Rangers

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis has joined Rangers on loan until the end of the season, ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.

The 34-year-old returns to the club he joined Saints from in 2012, with Davis having spent six-and-a-half memorable years at St Mary’s.

The Northern Ireland skipper made 226 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals, as he played a significant role in some of Southampton’s finest seasons in modern times.

Davis not only helped establish Saints back in the Premier League, but twice helped the team into Europe, becoming club captain in 2017, and also leading the team in the EFL Cup final that same year.
