Ward-Prowse surprises young fan at Christmas

With help from Saints Foundation Community Champion Brad Magookin, Archie was able to turn his school life around.

Saints Foundation’s Community Champions work full-time in six of Southampton’s secondary schools to harness the growth and development of students who may be struggling in mainstream education.

Archie was not well behaved throughout Years 7 & 8 and struggled to control his mood. This was also impacting his home life.

Archie stated: “Brad has had quite a big impact on me. I am less angry and I am not getting into trouble at school. My behaviour at home has improved as well.”

James Ward-Prowse was on hand to surprise Archie at his school, present him with a signed shirt and join in with the Christmas party as the student’s guest.

The midfielder was also on hand to present the 14-year-old with the Saints Foundation Community Champions' Achievement Award for all of his hard work and for getting back on track.

“It was great to meet Archie and to find out how Saints Foundation have helped him,” James said. “It was really nice to attend the Christmas party and get into the festive spirit.”
